Yes, it is just seven years later and the United States Golf Association Championship is already returning to the Black Course at Bethpage State Park. Wonder why? Joe Rehor, head pro and director of golf at Bethpage has the simple answer: “The socio-economic status of Long Island assures the U.S. Open of big crowds who have, and spend, big money.” And it certainly would not surprise Rehor if there was a U.S. Open “trifecta” in another few years as well.
